Poetry Fruit Stickers
It's National Poetry Month which means I'm lucky enough to help Melody Santiago Cummings and P. Scott Cunningham put poetry in weird places. This year, we put poetry on fruit stickers. Look out for these in your local Miami grocery store.
Randy's Garments Woven Labels
My good friend Brandon, with years of experience in the apparel industry, tasked me with illustrating the woven labels for his new brand. We scoured the web and label blogs for inspiration. Brandon also has a collection of vintage labels that we used for reference. After refining our blue collar mascot for the brand, we sent the illustrations to China to be produced as a woven label. This was my first experience with woven labels and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The level of detail and reproduction quality totally exceeded my expectations. In addition, I just learned the line will soon be available at Bodega Boston and Garbstore London.
Miami Marlins Mural
I was recently asked to paint a mural for the new Miami Marlins logo campaign, “Our Colores.” It was an awesome week painting this on the side of US1 in Coconut Grove. I hope we made traffic more interesting for everyone during their daily commute. Big thanks to the Daily Bread Marketplace for hooking us up with amazing Middle Eastern food every day and thanks to The Community for organizing this fun project.
PKWY Brand Launch and Mural
It was surreal to watch the PKWY brand come to life last weekend. I’ve been working on this project for over a year and it started with the branding, visual identity, and logo design. After working on the brand, we started to collaborate on the product (socks) and the official launch here in Miami.
Studio Visit
I’ve been wanting to share photos of my studio for a while now. It’s a huge part of my inspiration and it keeps me centered throughout the day. I’m constantly grabbing books from the shelf, sorting through paper samples, and making enough coffee to kill a horse.
Zine Workshop
This was my second time giving a lecture to design students at FAU and it was a blast.
One of my previous professors at FAU and local Florida Artist, Adrienne Gionta, asked me to swing by her class and give a workshop about zine making and self-publishing. I have been making zines for about 7 years now and have experimented with a variety of production processes including offset, digital, and letterpress.
